Eventbrite alternatives in Australia (2026): fees and who each suits
· 4 min read · By eventflo
Prices checked 2 October 2026. Every figure comes from each platform's own pages, listed under Sources at the bottom. The "who it suits" lines are our opinion, and we make eventflo, so weigh that.
If you're looking at Eventbrite alternatives in Australia, there are really five to compare: Humanitix, TryBooking, Moshtix, Oztix, and eventflo, which we make. The right one depends on what you want to change about Eventbrite, and that's usually the fee, who keeps it, or the door.
Eventbrite alternatives: the fees
Eventbrite's Australian pricing page lists a 5.35% + $1.19 service fee per paid ticket, paid by buyers by default. Here's what the alternatives publish.
| Platform | Published fee on a paid ticket | Who pays by default |
|---|---|---|
| Eventbrite (baseline) | 5.35% + $1.19 | Buyer |
| Humanitix | 4% + $0.99, plus 10% GST | Buyer |
| TryBooking | $0.50 ticket fee + 2.5% processing fee | Buyer pays the ticket fee; organiser pays the processing fee |
| Moshtix | Set per ticket by Moshtix; no single rate published | Buyer |
| Oztix | No rate on its organiser page | Not stated |
| eventflo | eventflo's fee: 2% of the ticket price, minimum $1, maximum $5, GST inclusive. Optional booking fee and transaction fee you add on top: A$0.10 to A$10.00 each | Organiser pays eventflo's fee out of the ticket price; buyer pays only a booking or transaction fee you add, if any |
On a $50 ticket (our arithmetic): Eventbrite $3.87, Humanitix $3.29 including GST, TryBooking $1.75 in total, assuming the 2.5% applies to the ticket price, eventflo $1.00 (2% of $50, GST inclusive, paid by the organiser). Workings: Ticketing fees in Australia compared.
Who each alternative suits
- Humanitix: charity and community events, and crowds who care where the fee goes. It says 100% of profits from booking fees go to impact projects.
- TryBooking: community organisations that want a low published total. Its FAQ says you can't add your own fee on top of the ticket price.
- Moshtix: shows at venues that already work with it. Its terms say the fees listed there "only apply to Venues that do not have pre-existing agreements with Moshtix", so get your own fee schedule.
- Oztix: organisers who want an account-managed partner. Its organiser page offers "Contact sales" and "Create my event" and doesn't show a rate.
- eventflo: promoters who want to add their own booking or transaction fee to fund their event, with FloMarket official resale and QR code tickets scanned in the eventflo scanner app.
What changes when you leave Eventbrite
- Fee structure. Eventbrite's is one percentage-plus-flat fee on every paid ticket and add-on. TryBooking's is split. Humanitix adds GST on top.
- Who keeps the fee. On Eventbrite, Humanitix and TryBooking, it's the platform's. See who keeps the booking fee in the hub.
- Marketplace. Eventbrite's pricing page calls it "the world's largest events marketplace". Whichever platform you choose, plan your own promotion rather than relying on any marketplace to find your crowd.
How to pick one
- Start with your event: charity, community, venue-led or independent promoter.
- Cut to two platforms and run the same $50 ticket through each checkout.
- Ask each for payout timing, resale options and buyer data export in writing.
- Don't compare headline rates alone. Compare what your punter pays all-in and what lands with you.
